My name is Megan Hirt, and I am a writer, copy editor and magazine editor based in Lawrence, Kan. I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2008 with degrees in Journalism and French.

I have had an interest in body image issues since 2005, when my own struggle with an eating disorder began. My goal with bodies in focus is to spotlight instances of body dis-ease in our culture, to examine what they say about our values and priorities, and to consider the profound implications our fixation on physical appearance has for all of us.
